I spent HOW MUCH today????

June 21st, 2006 at 05:25 am

DD3, nana and I stopped at WalMart on the way to the movie.

I needed one of those jumbo mega-bags of dog food (for the 4 adult labs) *cough, cough...back strain... Some lunch supplies for DH, DD3 got the rest of her summer clothes (4 tops, 2 pair shorts) and some new undies and socks...and whats up with teenage girls wanting BOXER SHORTS??? One pair of boxer shorts...sigh...
$98 dollars. cough again.

Filled the tank with gas... $34...ugh...

Then, we had about an hour to kill...so we went to a little mexi diner...One of those not-fast food, but not quite restaurant places...great food...Nana and I split the 'Jr Big Burrito' and were both stuffed if that tells you how big these things are! $11.75 for the three of us...

Then $10.50 for the movie...The Lake House. Reviews weren't so good, but we enjoyed it. I probably enjoyed it just because going to a movie is so rare. (Candy from walmart somehow made its way into my purse to snack on during the show...oops, howd that happen? Wink )

An expensive but fun afternoon. (appx $155!!!!) But I am DONE with DD3s summer clothes shopping (She is going on a camping trip with a school friend for 9 days next week and needed enough clothes to get through most of that time.)

Tomorrow...a NO SPEND DAY FOR SURE! Rather, I will be hitting the wood yard for a day of splitting...let's see, did I pick up Ben-Gay....aicheewawa

I buy sweets from the supermarket to take into the cinema too. I want to see The Lake House.

I bring my own food in all the time. I justify it by saying they dont sell the kind of candy I like Wink
Meh. You spent a lot, but it was all stuff you use on your "no spend" days...so its all good Smile

I haven't been to a movie in years, but I use to take my own candy too. I have always wondered if I could take a travel mug with ice water, cause that is all I like to drink.

Let's see...how many went in our group...
    DD1, DD3 Nana and Me
DD1's neighbor, her mom and sis...
DD1s best friend and her mom...

So, nine in all...and all enjoyed the movie.

Since everyone's taste in movies is different, I will share that I usually go to a review site like Rotten Tomatoes to check out reviews of movies before spending money to see them. If nothing else, at least I know what Im getting into. Wink

Boxer's are great for girls. No wedgies to pull out and no visible panty line. Plus they are just more comfy. My daughter tends towards the boy cut girl's undies now. She has a very long waist to crotch so most of the other type of undies were downright uncomfortable, especially when all you could find were low rise or bikini cut. For a child who was 8 at the time.

Doesn't sound like you picked up any junk, just stuff you needed. Did you have a list? Ha ha, I'm sure you did'nt. I think if we all shopped alone we would spend considerably less. Rolleyes
