Thank You to our Veterans! (OT, but oh-so worth it)

November 12th, 2006 at 06:17 pm

I am on Veterans Day (weekend)overload here!! DH is a vet and has to watch it all...the movies, the tributes, the documentaries...He does this ALL THE TIME. When he is home our TV is either on the military, history or sci-fi channel or he is playing a military game on the X-box.

His major interests are the Vietnam War or WWII...(He has watched Band of Brothers so many times, he has it memorized).

I do want to thank any veterans who might peruse this site....and all families who have/had veterans. Your contribution to our freedom is greatly appreciated.

A big {{hug}} to all who have helped to keep our country safe and free!!!

Haha. The History channel and the Military channel were two of my favorites when in the day. I still have a special interest in WWII, but don't particularly care for Vietnam. I suppose having had been friends with a Vietnam Vet, I've had a certain leaning for that theater....

However, I am not a vet. Not even close. Just a military history gamer more than anything. Thanks to all the vet who had to sweat and bleed for real so I can live comfortably and just play simulations of it.

Thank you to all veterans too! My father fought in WWI and WWII!

I sent MD's BF two bags of candy and a thank you card. Then I talked to a friend who is retired military. She has plenty of money now and her husband (also a veteran), an M.D., gets on anysolidier.com and picks out people, she goes and buys the stuff and sends it off. What fun that would be to do that a lot. SIL called from Iraq on Veteran's Day also.
