My good friends DH is turning 40 on December 23 and she wanted to throw somesort of surprise party for him...so I suggested and "Over the Hill Redneck Party"
Of course, I take great pleasure in any dig I can do...as he has given me a hard time from day one...and its now my turn to pay him back.
The seat that our toilet came with is really cheaply made and I am buying a better one....so I will use the new cheap seat (never used of course) to make a birthday/holiday wreath. Ive already made some garland out of wire and beer can tabs.
I am going to decorate a tree with beer cans, empty pork and bean cans and old red socks...
I will also make center pieces out of beer bottles and some cheap plastic flowers.
Anyone else have any ideas??

Two ideas that I have off the top of my head are: 1.) busted Hot Wheels on blocks as party favors and 2.) a takeoff, based on the birthday theme, on You Might Be 40 if... that 'll help with the ball busting.

Boo- I did find a "get er done' set of pilsner beer glasses that he and my DH will use at the party. I think a t-shirt is great...but its gonna have to be a little meaner I think...teehee
And BA....um, alls fair in love and war...and this, well...its been war for awhile...("but he started it"..."said in my best whiney voice)

For refreshments He said they had a turkey out with the butcher knife just stuck in it. All Walmart brand foods. Bread left in the plastic wrapper, knife just stuck in the mayo...etc.
No plates...just white butcher paper to eat on.

Some things we do is...
We have an old pick up truck, we put a plastic liner in the back of the truck fill it with water. My husband puts a air hose in the water. Voila' our Red Neck Jacuzzi.
We also decorate the yard with bundles of Hay and cut up pieces of Red and White table cloth to lay over the bundles of hay, this acts as additional seating for your guests. The tables also get the red and white table clothes.
Our center pieces are cowboy boots with plastic flowers.
For the final touch we put Pink Flamingos in the front yard and X-Mas lights on our patio.
