The hubster doesn't get it...

March 16th, 2008 at 06:58 pm

Well, that's not quite fair...he doesn't get how I could possibly know everyone on this site as well as I do...How I could have "friends" Ive never met...How I know SO MUCH about my "friends" and why I am so interested in this site!! lol

Ok. I guess if the tables were turned, Id be scratching my head and even a little concerned.

So, I have been letting him read some of your responses to me and telling him a little about each of you. Slowly he is starting to come around and understand...mostly he just hops onto the X-box and entertains himself while I read and respond to blogs.

I thouroughly enjoy everything about this site!! I love that it is chock full of ideas and suggestions, that I can blog about whatever is on my mind and no one is going to care or judge--(ok, maybe there are one or two spoilers out there..but they are usually known as "anonymous")

I don't know about you guys...but on the weekend, everyone sleeps in except me- so I hop up, make some coffee and to this site I go..savoring what my "friends" are up to. I ususally hop on sometime during the day...and if time permits, again at night. It is always fun to see new posts and to read what others are saying in their responses to me in my posts.

Addicted? Perhaps...but if I have to have a "fix" it might as well be one that is all about healthier finances.

So, Boo, Ima, BA, PP, Baselle, Fern, and the list could go on and on (yes, even you lurkers out ther...join, join...lol) because you are all on the friends list in my book--the hub may not 'get it" but I sure do--HUGS!

Ray, due to having a four year old, I am up very early on weekends. And one of my favorite Sunday pastimes is to drink my coffee and read the blogs too! (Oh, and clip coupons and watch Face the Nation and stuff like that). Smile

You are family too Ray! I wish Nate and Jeff would come up with some great ideas for us to get together as an official "blog reunion"! It would have to be pretty frugal though! I am so glad your life has settled down a little bit and you can blog more frequently. I sure missed you when you were gone!! (I wish we could dig up Contrary too. I miss her and worry about her!)

Thanks Kat- I feel the same way!

Contrary, lrjohnson and Lucky Robin are all MIA lately...

There should be a new rule that its OK to take an SA break...but first you have to let us know you're leaving and THEN you have to check in at least every couple of months.

That's weird that your DH doesn't understand - we're just like multiple online gamers playing, say, an X-box game. Similar interaction ... only we make money, not spend it.

Some of the other reunions I've seen is that one person will invite whomever is reading to a public place, date, and time. Not the most terribly frugal, ha ha, but safest.

Since the Greenwood (North Seattle) all neighborhood yard sale is in April or May, I'm toying with the idea of inviting whomever is in SA and can make it to join me. We walk, we buy (or not), we take some pictures, we have a little nosh and a lot of coffee Big Grin, and perhaps a light dinner. But I'm so not a planner !

I think the blogs are interesting because you get a glimpse into how people think, not just what they normally say in real life. In that way, you guys know me a lot better than most in real life!

My husband does not understand either, but he has never used a computer. I am on a local forum and while there are a few on there who are troublemakers, I have made some real friends. We do lunch and have get togethers once in a while. I wish we could all get together somehow!!

Baselle, he doesnt do the xbox live thing...but yeah, the games do still take up a bite of his time..a big old garage sale in Seattle...now THAT is one to ponder!! I think your only 8 hours or so from here.

BA- Ever since we learned about you and your closet, I am certain we know you more intimately than most LOL.

Julie- Let's get that reunion going...I will be back there about this time next year!! Id be willing to travel to meet everyone...OR you guys head west...whichever works!
