It was time to redo the do...

May 23rd, 2008 at 06:44 am

I made it 8 weeks...but I was in dire need if I wanted to keep up the new do. I have to say, it looks way better now...but is it worth it?? I really do love the cut, the color and the shapely brows...but it is so expensive. I am still struggling with the whole cost/benefit analysis...8 weeks...that would be just about $2 per day...hmm...

I told you all the good news from the doc yesterday...but there was a part 2....(darned doc, couldn't just leave it at that)

The whole weight thing got hammered home big time. It is so frustrating. I was thin most of my life...and the last 10 years I have had weight creeping up that I have just not paid that much attention to. I would say I am heavy, but not fat...that is until they were talking on the radio a couple of mornings ago about a size "10" being PLUS SIZE...huh?

Bottom line, I need to lose 40 pounds. that is like five 8 lb babies!! ugh.

so...I am going to spend this 3 day weekend putting my plan of attack together...

Looking very forward to the long weekend...how bout you??

Yea, my wife's hair is expensive too. It costs about $200 every 10 weeks. Mine are like $15.

I got to lose some weight too. About 10-15 pounds. But they say it's easier for a guy then a gal to drop pounds.

    Here's an article I read:

"A guy looks at his need to lose weight and sees it like a blueprint for building a cabinet—he has that much emotion about it," she says.

"It's a job, he gets his supplies, and he does it. If he thinks he's a fat-ass-lard-belly, he just says, 'Well, I guess I got myself here and I gotta get myself out—let's get this show on the road.'"

I think we all get this weight thing after we pass age 35. I told myself when I got old i would eat anything I wanted, but it is just not happening!! Good luck in your weight loss!!

    Ray,

Everyone has an area in their life where they splurge a bit. If having your hair done every other month makes you feel better about yourself, and helps you have more confidence, etc, then it's *well* worth it!

I would like to suggest you checking out sparkpeople.com with regards to the "other news" from your doc. If it looks like something you might like ... then there is a Biggest Loser Summer Sizzle challenge starting on June 13 (I think). I'm on the Periwinkle team (now almost two years on it!) LMK if you're interested.

Size 10 is not plus size. When I shopped in the plus sizes, the cutoff on the low side was always 14. Smile Maybe in Hollywood.

I know that you've lost weight in the past - I think you really want to concentrate on the sustainable. Good exercise that you can do and is enjoyable to you, eating healthy fresh food in not insane portions, water if you are thirsty (don't drink your calories). Think of things that push yourself a bit but won't frighten you if you make it a routine.

I need to lose 40 pounds too. Wish we lived closer!
Keep the hair. Consider it a "work expense" and claim it on your taxes!!
