Wrestling the %$#@! wire to save money....

March 20th, 2009 at 11:52 pm

Most guys and even some ladies will not understand this rant....but I know, some of you will completely relate!

UNDERWIRE. Why is it, that those darn things cant stay put? Within just weeks of buying a new bra, that wire starts it journey upward and onward. No matter how determined I am to show it who's boss, that blasted wire keeps reappearing and not always at the opportune times! Business meetings lately, I am finding myself sitting on my hands so that I dont unconsciously wrangle it back into place to stop the constant pinch.

I HATE shopping for these things, and hate even more that break-in honeymoon period. Talk about straight-jackets from hell.

But I am tired of fighting this one. I am ready to concede, yank the blasted thing out and turn it into a paperclip!

But alas, I will weave it back into place in the morning, fight with it throughout the day and try to find some time to buy a new one.

Argh.

Went to counseling this afternoon. We did the initial visit and got everthing on the table. DD3 spent about 45 minutes with the counselor one-on-one. She has another appt next friday. She didnt say anything more that uh-huh and uh-uh on the way home. But she did say "I love you" as she left for work.

I am glad its the weekend. I am beyond ready for a mental break this week. Tomorrow I am repacking food for a local non-profit. and I am budgeting with DD1 on SUnday evening..but beyond that, nothing more mentally taxing than a sitcom is on my agenda.

Underwire is something I don't do - hehe. Though frankly, it's hard to find non-underwire bras. I never got the memo on what was so great about wire.

Love the picture though - LOL.

I feel your pain, I can't stand those things that is why I tend to buy bras with out them. But if you hand wash ( I know it is time consuming) it is much better or you can use an laundry bag when washing undergarments which helps a lot
I am glad to hear as well you guys are going to counseling

Right... so... my ex used to float somewhere between DD much of her life, especially when she was pregnant. Anyways, I remember her complaining about finding the right kind of bra and support, as well as back problems.

I don't have any advice or anything, just that I understand how this can be a real issue. That's an appropriately nasty picture by the way!

I hate underwires... but I cannot go without them (C here)... so, when they give me trouble like that, I generally sew a couple of stitches to keep them in place...

Great news on the counseling! Particularly on her saying she loves you (we all know she does, but, her saying means she's aware of it now!)

I hear you on the underwires. And why is it only just one wire that strays? You'd think that maybe one breast does something, but in one of my bras the right underwire strayed, and on another the left. And if you pull the underwires out, you have nothing.

lol...Baselle, you are sooo right. It is always one or the other...for me it is always the right. hmm. Lucky are those women who do not need the underwire...gravity is not always our friend!!

Nursing bras never have wire..but the flaps never stay up..I was wishing I could go back to 'regular' when your post reminded me they have their problems too!

Glad to hear the counseling is going, hope it goes well.
