Is anyone else tired today??? I am pooped from all the fun yesterday...I guess I am getting OLD.
I met DD1 at Walmart (anyone else call it wally-world?) today. Bought my summer sandals $12.74 and a few other things we needed. Then we went to Costco and bought a few other needed items. We had Costco dogs and sodas for lunch $3 for both of us....what a deal!)
I spent $68 dollars today in total.
We are having Mexi-food at home tonight. Got dinners all planned for the week ahead...back on budget!!!
I added $14 to my $20 challenge for the week and earned .01 in interest so my new total is $151.64...I am seriously considering purchasing a sewing machine with some of this money....I have always wanted to learn how to sew...but I am still in the pondering stage...I also need a new dining room table (badly)...decisions, decisions....

Sent DD2 a referral to open an ING account, which she did this morning and I have received the $10 referral bonus...so my $20 Challenge is now at:
$127.63 + $10 = $137.63....I am well on my way to that next benchmark of $200!!! I think I will scope out some more cans to turn in this week!!!
Woo-hoo!

I successfully completed a week of stair climing...so Ive added another $14 to my challenge...bringing the total to $119.63.
Ive also decided to add 10% of the savings from yesterdays grocery shopping trip...rounding up =$8 which brings the new total to $127.63!! yessss!
Today, we are going on our 'In-Season' hours for the business..which means DD1 and GD will come out everyday. (She has only been coming out 1-2 times per week since GD was born last Septemeber for winter hours) Im looking forward to having them here.
UPDATE on opening accounts:
The Wells fargo account opened just fine.
The BofA account is requiring more action before they can open (want me to visit a branch to make the initial deposit, or mail one in) So I will take care of that today.

I needed to pick DD3 up from a youth function tonight and decided that it would be a good time to trade in some of my cans....They have those machine thingys here that gobble up the cans one by one...and I had never used one (DH has always been the one to trade them in, but he hasn't wanted to bother for a while)
8:40 at night....and someone else pulls up to trade in cans as I get started. (huh?) I thought Id have the machine all to myself at this hour... as I figured this out....
Oh well, I get the cans going, its not so bad, kinda easy actually...and part way through the machine stops taking my cans and spits out a receipt...(I guess there is a can limit)...so I take the receipt and start again...get all the cans traded in, take the receipts into the store...and the clerk had to get a supervisor override because I had more than $10 (I had $11.50)
Oh well, now I know...I think I will just take a couple bags at a time till I get them all traded in...so...the $11.50 is going to my $20 challenge....which means I have OFFICIALLY gone over the first $100 mark...(cheer and applause here)$105.63 to be exact!!! oh yeah!(doin the victory dance)

I added another $14 to my challenge for stair climbing last week...so I am up to $94.13 (the .13 was interest this month!)
I have been racking my brain on ways to earn some money to add to this challenge...and remember that we have several bags of soda cans in the garage...so I will be turning those in this week! I also have some change in my piggy bank...I will take that in as well...
I am eager to see my challenge top $100--

DH is off today since he worked Saturday. He sold a cord of wood that needs to be delivered today so he and his dad are getting it ready.
I suggested that he and his dad deliver it, then go have lunch in town. DH also wants to look for a cover to put over our splitter so we can work when it's raining and when we need shade. I have given him a $200 budget (he had picked one out for $1200)....boy talk about opposite ends of the spectrum on that!!
So he will also look for a $200 cover today.
Was out checking on dogs yesterday and Noticed my little Anna is getting rounder and showing signs of a pregnancy...so we will have a litter of Labs next month!!!! She is a yellow and the dad (Bear) is chocolate. I love whelping time!!! This will bring a little money (about $2000) that I can put away for next winter.
I completed a week of stairs, so will add $14 to my challenge...which brings me to $80!! Sure is fun seeing a little account grow that was non-existent a month ago. (thank you to whoever came up with the challenge idea!!)

My 14 yo daughter is going on a youth function this weekend and I just learned that she needs a dark green formal to wear....egads. Today is an early out day for her school, so as soon as she's out we are off to the stores to try to find this dress....She will also need $30 spending $ for food/gas/etc. (There goes my allowance for this week and next)
I have a litle money saved ($50)in our clothing fund...unfortunately, the miscellaneous fund is -$3 because I just got eye glasses that I hadn't planned on...
So, my goal is to find an appropriate 'dark green' dress for under $50 by tomorrow night...
We have a Ross and a TJ Maxx in town...and hopefully dark green dresses are off season (and on clearance) right now. Keep your fingers crossed for us!
I will be updating my Stair Challenge money weekly- since I am setting it up to transfer once a week.(but I am at $4 for the week so far!!!)

I hit the enter button earlier today on my $20 challenge...so proud that I had started to save....and a nano-sec later my washer started making this horrible noise....and then stopped working.
Egads...stressed all afternoon until DH got home from work.
He pulled out the water pump and found, of all things, a KEY lodged in the pump. Once he got the key out and put it all back together...my washer works like new!! (Hooray) However, we have NO IDEA where this mystery key came from-
I am breathing a heavy sigh of relief tonight that we did not have a huge repair bill on my 1 year old washer!!!
but this darn key is baffling me...
oh well...off to do laundry!
