DH *NOT Happy*

June 16th, 2006 at 04:02 pm

DH is on a rampage...and Im staying outa his way...

Seems that 'someone' in NY got pulled over in 2002...The person had no ID, but told them a name and a birthday....

Which is a match to my DH (He has a common name)

NY DMV is saying he either has to pay the fine (over $800) or submit proof that he was not in NY...Hello? we live/work in Oregon...

and it will take 2-3 MONTHS to get it removed!!

Mind you, they are suspending DHs license here....and his job requires him to have a commercial DL...

So, now he is taking his day off...to spend in the DMV and argue his case...

for those who know him...DH has said he is going to make Dennis Leery look like a saint today....(oh boy)

As I said, Im staying outa his way...Wink

(** Cost so far: 1 HOUR phone call to NY, gas to get to DMV...

** future possible costs: court fees for a husband who went POSTAL at the DMV....

egads.

Gosh, good luck with that! Nothing like trying to fight a bureaucracy, especially from across the country!

WHAT? and I thought our police were not doing a good job!...here in ES, if you don't have a driver's licence with you, they can even take away your car!...best case scenario is you get your car registration card taken away (they give you a receipt for it) and you have 48 hours to come down to the police headquarters to pick it up! -- and, also, there's the option of just applying a fine for the license plate!

How frustrating!! I am so sorry this is happening to him (you)! At least it is not identity theft. I bet a lawyer could straighten this out faster and easier. He could argue about how the ticket was given or something. Maybe you should call and see how much THAT would cost. Maybe the price of sanity?

That's outrageous!! This whole government system has gone straight to the dogs, and these clowns want to pry into our personal lives??!!

Yikes! And I thought our all having similar names in this family was dangerous!

That's horrible! It's scary that things like that can happen so easily and affect your life so much. Best of luck in getting that cleared up NOW.

Pay stubs paid to him for the week in question or time sheets from work should be evidence he was in Oregon at the time. Any credit card statements for purchases made in Oregon during that time or cancelled checks against local businesses might. Cell phone statements showing he made calls from the area might be good.

This is ridiculous. I hope your DH puts the fear of God into them.
