Nope, Oprah is not Gay

A show aired a clip on the fact that Oprah is not gay last night...and I am writing about it only because Oprah stated that "women who have a best friend know the bond that Gayle and I share"

Yep...and for me, that friend is Linda.

Linda and I have known each other since we were 12....so 33 years now.

We dreamed together, dealt with teenage-parent problems together, planned our lives together, got married, raised kids, and are now enjoying this almost-empty nest phase of life~ together.

Only problem, Linda stayed in California and I moved to Oregon...so there is this 'blasted' 15 hour drive between us.

As luck would have it...I moved to the same area as Linda's dad, stepmom and stepmoms entire family...and so once each year, Linda makes the trip north to spend with...well, her dad---but it ends up more me...Big Grin (sorry dad)

I love Linda- she is truly the sister I never had.
And she will be here in 3 days!!!!

She will be here for a week, but it is to attend two weddings...so I have to do a little more sharing than usual with her family...but I am still giddy...cant wait!!

    Martha is my friend, my sister, my partner in crime!...I like to say we've survived things that destroy lives, and, here we are!...we always say we are like 1/4 and 3/4 of one same person (she being the 1/4 because she's so skinny!)...I know (as does she) that when life gets scary, or dark, or horrid, all we have to do is reach and there'll be another hand reaching out!...also that when life is wonderful and sunny, we'll find each other if we just stretch out our arms!...so, yes, I believe Oprah when she says she's not gay!

    I am lucky to be able to say that yes, I do have such a friend. We have known each other since third grade and have been best friends for the last fourteen years. We lived in different cities during our college years but now we're about half an hour away from each other. Nice. Smile And to top it off, I met my SO through her...he is her cousin.

    I am not a big fan of Oprah but I do agree I have at least 3 best friends that I have know since about 12, we talk atleast about 1-3 times a day and we laugh cry and hang out together. So hats off to Oprah and her friend and anyone else who is fortunate to have such a good friend

    I am blessed with more than one, but my longest time friend is Christy. I remember when her mom was pregnant with her! We have been BFF since she was born! Debbie has been my friend since college. We have one of those great friendships where you don't even have to talk, you telecommunicate!!
    Have fun with your friend and I hope you get in some quality time!
