Bad #(*%&^ dogs!!!!

December 10th, 2006 at 12:04 am

Ok...those neighbor dogs did it again! They sat outside my home and waited until my poor Gracie (who is old and blind) went out to potty and they attacked her!!!!! I was splitting wood and didnt know DD3 had even let Grace out...but luckily my mom saw it and got my attention...by the time I got to her they had bit her several times...poor thing. The neighbor (owner of the dogs) will be home tomorrow..and this time, if there are any vet bills, SHE is paying them! She has these dogs on an 'electric fence'...but I guess the batteries are dead because the dogs were sure not in her yard.

Grr...poor Grace is limping pretty badly. SOOOOOO frustrating!

We have been trying to process 2 cords of wood today for delivery tomorrow morning. One of the cords will be out of 'green, unseasoned' wood...which is fine with the buyer...only problem is that the green wood is much heavier and these were big logs to start with...so I worked for about 4 hours and finally had to call it quits for the day. DH is out there trying to finish up tonight.

Needless to say...no tree today. I hope we are able to get it tomorrow!!

Wow, can you call someone and tell them that there are dogs on the loose attacking your dog? Let them pay a fine to get them back? That's awful! Of course, no telling what my grouchier dog would do if she got loose.... I hope that Grace is okay!

Time to explore the leash laws where you live. Hopefully you have a legal recourse.

I remember when I was a kid on the farm, a neighbor dog attacked and killed one of our better mouser cats on our property, as witnessed by our dad. We didn't get a decent recourse from our non-farm neighbor; farmer vengeance is not pretty.

Can't you call animal services? If the dogs are roaming and attacking they are a menace and need to be picked up. What happens when the next time it is a child? These dogs have shown a pattern of violent behavior, how long until they kill something or someone?

Also, are you in a homeowner's association? They will fine owners of off leash animals usually. Ours is $25 for the first warning and from there it leaps to $500 for the second warning. They follow a no real second chance rule. If there is a third time the owners are fined $1000 and the animals are picked up by SSC.

Oh Ray, I am so sad. My mother's deaf cat was asleep in a gardening pot on her porch and neighborhood dogs killed her. Oh the rage....

Your poor dog! I'm so sorry. I agree with everyone else. Check into the leash laws, etc. This is a very dangerous situation that needs to be nipped in the bud at once. I worry that next time it may be a child, or you.

I will be checking on the laws and talking to the owner when she gets home today. Poor Gracie has holed up in my bedroom and has only come out for food and water...The bedroom in upstairs and she is too sore to get down the stairs...but I will need to get her out for a potty run this morning.

    Stupid dogs!
