I am ready for the end of this economic crisis...how bout you?

March 24th, 2009 at 02:58 am

I am frustrated tonight. I pay my taxes. I did not buy a bigger house than I could afford. I have been responsible with my bills. I live within my means. I take care of my family. I work for a good, ethical company. I save. I bargain shop. I forego, do without, make do.

So why the heck am I paying for those who chose to do otherwise???

The whiplash from all of this nonsense is starting to hit those who did it all right...and it pisses me off!!!!

Million dollar bonuses after my (our)taxes bailed them out...give me a freakin break.

IN one way or another we are all paying for corporate greed and it makes me cranky.

sigh.

We used that steak tonight...and enjoyed a nice, cheap dinner that tasted like a high dollar meal.

I needed to pick up a few things at the store tonight and found some great deals on chicken. Tomorrow I will put a chicken in the crockpot with butter and indian curry. Makes a very easy, yummy meal!!

Sorry to rant tonight...just cranky over things I cant control but have to pay for. When we all work so hard to do it right, it irritates me to have to bail out those who have been greedy and irresponsible...and then see big bonuses paid for all that 'hard work'....givemeafreakinbreak. endofrant.

I agree, I wouldn't be so upset about losing my job if every time I turned on the TV it was about people losing their jobs and X amount people showed for X amount of jobs. A lot of these people were those who lived well above their means. It is over drive and does something to me. Some times I think these guys get a kick out of stressing us out
For me I was paying down my debt, at one point I was cc debt free but then I emergency dental surgery and tuition but I was able to save money, lived with my mom (not my first choice but what I can afford). I am not for this bail out and not asking for a handout

I hear ya!! I think I saw this one coming. I have several relatives with crazy mortgage loans on homes they can't afford. It never made any sense to me.

I'm also doing chicken in the crockpot tomorrow...apricot preserves, onion soup mix and soy sauce.

I hear ya. It will be very interesting when enough shareholders feel the way you do. Just a majority voting against CEO compensation in a Dow Jones component company will make news.
Frankly, though, you should pace yourself. I get the feeling that we will be hearing many things that will make us far angrier in the next few years.

Hey, I'm doing chicken in the crockpot today too, with corn, black beans and salsa! How funny!

I don't think anyone's "for" the bailout, but in order for the assets of those of us not drowning to have any value, it must be done. But the bonus thing makes me sick to my stomach! I hope this tax thing goes through and they basically have to pay the bonuses back through taxing. It's underhanded, but so was their taking the bonus money. I don't know if we'll be able to get the money back from the international recipients, though!
