March 11 - 11 years on this site!

I have been blogging for 11 years! Hard to believe.

I remember when I started blogging I had stopped working and was home helping my son start his business, babysitting my first grandbaby and helping take care of my elderly parents.

Having left my job, I was looking for ideas for saving money and making ends meet and stumbled on this site.

Seems like a life time ago... My grandson is now almost a teenager (he still makes me waffles from scratch with the 'secret ingredient'), both of my parents are gone, my son's first business failed (but he is now 3 years into his very successful second business), and I returned to my former job!

And along the way, Ive made some great friendships here...even met some of you in person- A few here on the west coast, one on the east coast and a couple in between!! Weve laughed and cried and struggled and succeeded...

And I have learned so much from everyone.

Cheers friends! Here's to many more years of friendship and camaraderie!

    Happy Blogoversary! Mine must be soon, too. I remember you putting a call out inviting lurkers to start a blog and I took you up on the challenge. Thanks for the push, it has been a positive in our financial life.

    CCFree- my goodness! I remember when you started! I am so glad you did join- for a long time I would use my blogoversary to invite the 'lurkers' to join! Lucky for the site, you did! Happy blogoversary to you too!!!!

    FJ- thank you! My journey has been one of success and learning opportunities. Smile The best part of blogging here by far, is the friendships Ive made!!!

    CB- there are several of us "oldies" who joined in the early years of SA. I remember when you joined too!

    Happy blogoversary! It's funny how we all stumble across this site, which I feel has been so helpful in growth in methods of saving and other financial matters. (I stumbled across it one month before going away on an overseas holiday where I realized that because of the holiday we barely had any money to get through the month)

    Happy Blogoversary!! A meetup sometime would be fun, although east coast/west coast and in-between does make for some practical difficulties. Great that you have met people from the blogs. I have met one IRL from here (Patient Saver)(and four from a walking board that I was active on from 2001 until the site closed a few years ago). Definitely having an online "tribe" with similar goals and struggles makes it easier. To many more years!
